💜 OBITUARY - A LIFE REMEMBERED WITH EVERLASTING LOVE

With broken hearts, profound sorrow, and everlasting love, we honor the beautiful life and precious memory of Melina Dystany Bookert, born on January 19, 2001, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, who entered eternal rest on September 25, 2026, at the age of 25.

Melina was a beloved daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, and cherished member of her family. Though her time on Earth was far too short, her life mattered, her presence made a difference, and her memory will forever remain in the hearts of everyone who loved her.

Melina leaves behind her loving mother, Elaine Bookert; her father, Valentino Castano, from Medellín, Colombia; her two younger sisters, Martelladerose Bookert and Maribella Bookert; her grandfather, Edward Bookert; her aunts, Cassandra Bookert-Pinedo and Evelyn Renea Anderson; beloved uncles and cousins; extended family members; and cherished friends.

Her family heritage connects her to Albuquerque, New Mexico, communities throughout the country, and Colombia, an important part of her family's roots and story.

Melina's life was a gift, and her memory is a blessing that will never fade. She will forever be remembered as a beautiful soul, a precious princess, and a beloved family member whose place in our hearts can never be replaced.

Growing up, Melina shared a special bond with her mother, Elaine Bookert, and her sisters, Martelladerose Bookert and Maribella Bookert. Together, they shared creative moments, family memories, and the joy of making soap art, magical roses, and crystal resin art.

Sol Veda Glo was a special nickname shared by each of my three daughters. Each daughter was connected to this name, and Melina was the Glo. It represents a beautiful piece of our family story, filled with creativity, togetherness, childhood memories, and the love that connected my daughters as they grew up.

Like sunlight shining through the clouds, the memories of those days will continue to glow in our hearts. The things we created together were more than art; they were pieces of time, love, laughter, and family history that can never be replaced.

Though Melina is no longer physically here, the memories behind Sol Veda Glo will remain a lasting reminder of the special bond she shared with her mother and sisters.

Melina had a love for mushrooms, and in the days following her passing, her family experienced something they will never forget.

Three days after Melina passed away, the rain began falling and continued nonstop. Then, something mysterious and extraordinary appeared in the backyard: a large mushroom had grown in a place where the family had never seen one grow throughout the six years they had ever lived there.

For those who loved Melina, this unexpected sight brought her love of mushrooms to mind and became a deeply meaningful moment, leaving the family reflecting on the beautiful mysteries of life and nature.

Then, in the sky, a breathtaking cloud appeared, resembling a beautiful angel with a distinct G-shaped form. Its iridescent shades of pink, purple, and blue created a sight that felt magical and unforgettable.

In the midst of grief, these moments brought a sense of wonder, comfort, and connection. Whether found in the gentle mysteries of nature, the colors of the sky, or the memories held close to the heart, love has a way of reminding us of those we miss most.

No one can explain every mystery that life brings, but the meaning these moments hold for Melina's family will always be treasured. They have become part of her story - a reminder of her unique spirit, her love for mushrooms, and the beautiful memories she left behind.
