Kristie Pearson of Albuquerque passed away on September 10, 2026, at the age of 74. A native New Mexican, born and raised in Albuquerque, Kristie spent her life surrounded by the family and community she loved so deeply. She is survived by her husband of 38 years, James (Jim) Pearson; her daughter, Denia, and husband Eric; Jori and Pauli; her niece Tabitha, who she loved as a second daughter; and her grandchildren, DemMarie, Joena, Wesley, Jordan, Shylah, Kali, and grand-nieces Desiree and Haley. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Margaret Engquist; her brothers, Eric and Ronald Engquist; and her grandson, Seth.

Kristie was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and friend. A love of family and a readiness to help others were simply part of who she was. She stood beside Jim as a true partner in his fine art business, helping build the legacy he created, and the two of them made countless friends together on the road at art shows over the years. Watching him pursue his craft stirred something in her too, and in time she began cultivating artistic passions of her own, finding joy in pottery and beadwork.

She was happiest outdoors or with animals nearby. Gardening and planting brought her peace, and she found just as much satisfaction baking and creating with her hands. But her greatest joy, without question, was being surrounded by her family, especially her grandchildren and grand-nieces. Whether she was out in the yard with them or teaching them to bake and craft at her side, her patience with them never ran out. She has rejoined her parents, her brothers, and her beloved grandson Seth, who she now holds close once more.

A memorial will be held at her home on November 7th at 1pm.
